Over the years, our solutions have evolved to meet the needs of our customers, delivering cutting-edge innovation and infinitely accurate results.
The story began in the 1970s with Malden Electronics in the UK, who built a device to indicate speech level: the SV6 for Speech Voltmeter 6. Over the years, this device evolved into a world-renowned and still widely used product: the Digital Speech Level Analyzer (DSLA).
In 2016, J3Tel-Tenedis, a leading company in measurement tools, acquired the intellectual property and business of Malden Electronics after being a Malden distributor for over 15 years.
The J3Tel-Tenedis Voice Quality Assessment Business Unit was then spun off to become Opale Systems in 2021.
Subsequently, Opale Systems joined the Softnext cluster, a group of software and mobile applications companies, to accelerate its growth and implement its development strategy.
Opale Systems produces the most accurate measurement of audio perceptual measurements available worldwide today such as:
Opale also provides the most accurate measurement of one-way delay for a voice path available, based on the delay of the audio and not just delay of packets across an IP network.
Opale, previously Malden, was the first to launch the new POLQA standard on a test platform when it was introduced on the MultiDSLA speech-quality tool in 2011. Opale Systems MultiDSLA also provides unique analytics, drilling deep into the POLQA metrics to provide insight on what is going wrong when you get poor scores.
The DSLA is used for detail analysis and characterization of all audio including voice and music. Applications range from chip manufacturers to leading mobile device vendors.
